๐ŸŽ๏ธHot Wheels Basics 101

Quick intro to HOW Hot Wheels ship to stores, WHAT to look for, and WHY it's important to know key identifiers of a desired variant.

Introduction

Mattel releases 15 editions of cases per year. Each case has 1 Super Treasure Hunt (STH) and 1 Treasure Hunt (TH) car in the case of 72 cars. Cases are named by letter (A-Z). Cases hit stores every 2-4 weeks. Super Treasure Hunts are always at the bottom of the case and Treasure Hunts are normally on the top, but have been found on the bottom as well. You should rip cases from the bottom and then go back through cases if you do not find it initially.

Case "A" begins releasing in December. From then on every couple weeks the next wave will come through. Since COVID inventory has been smaller and inconsistent

Summary and Example

Hunting for a Super Treasure Hunt Example: Using the Case A Variants: The Super Treasure Hunt for Case A is a Ford Escort RS2000. The Treasure Hunt for Case A is a '47 Chevy Fleetline. The Super Treasure Hunt version is only found in Case A but "common" versions of the car are found in later cases. In Case B the Ford Escort is a common and then may reappear later a different color, hence it is important to be identify whether it is the Super Treasure Hunt Version or not. So the escort will be seen twice, in Case A/B . Only to be as a Super Treasure Hunt in Case A and common in Case B. Then itโ€™s gone until a later wave. The Treasure Hunt will only come as Treasure Hunt and stay in the designated case. So the A case treasure hunt (47 Chevy fleetline) (cop car) will not be used in the second wave (b). it will see a recolor like the others do down the road.
